Aims of Project
To enable reading specialist or facilitator to apply knowledge of interrelated components of reading.
To use different techniques to encourage pupils to develop reading skills and to expand their repertoire of ways to respond to text, print and other kinds of reading materials in their environment.
To encourage students to practice different kinds of reading skills, such as: visualizing, retelling, questioning, inferring, predicting, summarizing and to make connections with text, environmental experiences and to the world.
To enable students to use their imaginative skills and experiences to write and read their own stories or tell stories they have learnt.
To encourage reading for pleasure and information.
To encourage writing to inform, entertain and persuade.
To encourage team work and group dynamics.
To develop competence in reading and writing by demonstrating skills learnt during the project.
